Howland Jones Ltd is a friendly, professional company, dedicated to providing a first-class service to our tenants. Your custom is very important to us. Having operated as a letting agent since 1999, we appreciate how important it is to ensure all aspects of renting a property are dealt with promptly and efficiently.

Prospective Tenants

We offer a flexible viewing and application service which takes into account the time restraints you may with work. If your schedule does not allow you to view properties during working hours, landlord and resident tenant permitting, we will endeavour to accompany you to view outside these hours. If you are visiting the area to view properties, we are happy to arrange hotel accommodation for you.

Existing Tenants

Periodically we survey our existing tenants to ensure our services continue to meet their requirements. Client satisfaction is vital to our success, so we are constantly adding to the range of services we can provide.  A number of our past tenants have gone on to purchase investment properties and have appointed us to act as their agent.

Our Fee Structure

When you want to apply for one of our properties, we require you to complete a Tenancy Application Form.  We review the information you provide and assess if we feel this will be a good match for the landlord. If so, we will accept a Holding Deposit from you to reserve the property for up to 15 days whilst we the carry out your online referencing.  The Holding Deposit is the equivalent of one week’s rent and assuming a successful referencing outcome, the Holding Deposit will form part of your first month’s rent. By the day your tenancy starts you will also need to pay the balance of the first month’s rent and the deposit for the property which will be the equivalent of five week’s rent.

All further rents will be due on set dates and need to be paid by standing order to our Client Rent Account.  All monies due prior to moving in must be paid in cleared funds. We accept online BACS or debit card payments. Please note, we do not accept credit card payments, cash or cheques.

What isn't included in the rent

All rents quoted are exclusive of council tax, water rates, electricity, gas, telephone, and any other utility charges, unless otherwise stated, and of course your own living costs.
