Who are we?

Created by Rebecca Howland (nee Jones) in 1999, Howland Jones remains a privately owned independent company specialising in property sales and residential lettings.

Providing excellent, memorable customer service has always been a driving force for us. Howland Jones provides the opportunity to build strong relationships with our clients, focusing our energies on delivering and maintaining higher than expected service levels.  We are incredibly fortunate to have a team who are passionate about their work standards and impressing our clients.  We aim to ensure our clients remain informed and confident throughout their journey with us, and importantly, that it is a profitable and enjoyable experience.

We accompany all viewings where possible; promoting property to its best advantage has been our business model since we started Howland Jones in 2001 and we believe we will be able to obtain stronger offers and honest feedback from potential purchasers on your behalf.

We’ve built solid relationships with many local solicitors and independent financial advisors.  We can arrange a survey with an independent surveyor for you, particularly useful to cash buyers. 

If you’re looking to build, grow, protect or preserve your investments, we can also introduce you to a wealth management solutions advisor.

We have a good understanding of the removals, packaging and storage markets and can provide you with details for a number of companies offering these services.

Our aim is to be a ‘one-stop-shop’ for you, providing links to all the services you may need to ensure the smooth transition from your property to the next.


We aim to introduce professional, referenced tenants to compliant, well-presented homes within two weeks of advertising, achieving high yields and low voids for our landlords.

·         Keeping in regular contact with both landlord and tenant throughout the application process

If we are managing your property for you, you will receive monthly statements of your rent account, regular interim inspection reports, compliance updates and full communication as and where repairs or maintenance issues may arise.  We will also provide professional advice on any matters where you may require support.  Our clients can also login with PropertyFile, a 24/7 gateway to access their accounts online to get an up to date snapshot of their account.

We offer four levels of management service to accommodate every type of landlord; from full management through to full time portfolio landlords requiring just our marketing function.  Because we are an independent letting agent with a modern and fresh approach, we can tailor each of our services to match your exact requirements. 

We chose to become members of ARLA in 2013 and through this membership, we publicly demonstrate our commitment to best practice and provide our clients with peace of mind as their monies are safely insured with Client Money Protection.

Everyone at Howland Jones has a ‘can do’ attitude to their role and takes pride in finding solutions to any given challenge.  We constantly look for ways to improve our service offering and we regularly discuss what works well and what challenges we face and how we can tweak our processes to improve our service further.

Where are we?

Our offices are based in the village of Measham which sits at the heart of the National Forest in the East Midlands.  We operate within a 20 mile radius of our offices, giving us extensive knowledge of the area. Measham sits on the border of four counties and we are almost equidistant from Derby, Leicester, Nottingham and Birmingham (fabulous for us shopaholics!). We have easy access to two junctions of the M42, making us an ideal location for commuters using the M1, M6, A444 and the A511

Mainline railway stations are present in each of the main cities, as well as at Tamworth, Hinckley and Burton upon Trent. We are just 20 minutes by car from East Midlands Airport, which links to East Midlands Parkway railway station, providing access to London in less than an hour and a half. Birmingham International Airport is about 40 minutes away, linking to the railway station getting you into central London in just over an hour.
